FAQ about our Russian online courses


Group Courses

How do I purchase group courses?

You can purchase group courses by entering our Courses page and clicking on one of our 4 options (Online Daily Crash, Online Daily Light, Online Flex, Online Comfy). Inside the page of the course you have chosen, you should then choose your preferred option from the list in the bottom part of the page and then click on “Book now”.

You will then be redirected to our payment page. If you don’t have an account yet, you will be asked to enter your email, a password and you first and last name. Your email and your password will be your login details.

After you have entered your personal details, you should enter your credit card details to the right, then click “Buy now” to complete your purchase.

You will then receive a confirmation email.

 

I want to attend a course for a longer period of time, but among the options I can only choose a maximum of 3 or 4 weeks. Can I study for longer?

Yes, you can. Your initial purchase can be made for a a maximum of 3 or 4 weeks (depending on the course type), but after you have completed your first booking, you can return to the page of your course and extend it from there following the steps given.

 

I want to start my course in the future but on the booking page it says I can only purchase courses starting next week (non beginners) or on a specific future date (beginners). Can I start in the future on a date of my preference?

Yes, you can. In this case, please get in touch with us at online-support@lidenz.ru, telling us when you would like to start.

 

I am a beginner but I have accidentally purchased a non-beginner course. What should I do?

In case you wanted to book a beginner group and you have accidentally purchased a non-beginner group, you should get in touch with us as soon as possible in order for us to make the necessary changes to your booking at no extra cost.

 

Can I attend a free trial group class?

Unfortunately no, but you can book a free trial individual lesson (see below).

 

I have purchased a group course. What should I do now?

After you have completed your purchase, there are two steps to complete before the beginning of your course:

  • Completing our Online Test (whose link you can find in the confirmation email received after your booking);
  • Attending our introduction/placement session (whose schedule and links you can find in the aforementioned confirmation email).

If you have purchased an Online Daily Crash course or an Online Daily Light course over the weekend to start next Monday, it is compulsory to attend our placement session on the following Monday at 8.35 CET.

 

How do I access my group lessons?

After you have been assigned to a group, you will find the link to access your lessons in your Dashboard in the section “Access Group Lessons“. You will just have to click on the link at the right day and time.

 

I believe that I have been placed in the wrong group. What should I do?

If you think that your level is considerably higher or lower than that of your class mates, please contact our Director of Studies Nadezhda at dosrfl_spb@lidenz.ru to discuss your group change.

 

I cannot attend my classes anymore. Can I get a refund?

Under no circumstances will students receive a refund for their paid classes. 

 

I am experiencing technical issues with the website/with the online lessons. Who should I contact?

If you experience technical issues of any kind, please contact us at online-support@lidenz.ru, we will help you as soon as possible. Please note that our staff works from Monday to Friday from 9am to 6pm Moscow time. If you contact us outside our working hours, we will reply on the next working day.

 


Individual Courses

How do I purchase individual courses?

You can purchase individual lessons from the dedicated page, where you can choose your preferred option from the list in the bottom part of the page and then click on “Book now”.

You will then be redirected to our payment page. If you don’t have an account yet, you will be asked to enter your email, a password and you first and last name. Your email and your password will be your login details.

After you have entered your personal details, you should enter your credit card details to the right, then click “Buy now” to complete your purchase.

You will then receive a confirmation email.

 

Can I book a free trial lesson?

Yes, you can book a free trial lesson from our Individual courses page. This option can be booked only once.

 

I have completed my purchase. What should I do now?

After you have completed your booking, you should enter your Dashboard and then from there open your calendar. You will see the amount of lessons you have purchased as “in stock”, above the calendar.

Before booking time slots, we invite you to set your local time zone in the upper part of the calendar, in order for us to make sure to set the lesson at the right time. The default time of the calendar is the Moscow time zone.

To book lessons, you should click on a day and then choose a time slot. If you want your lesson to last twice as long (1 hour and 40 minutes), just book two time slots one after the other.

After you have booked your lesson(s), please wait for our Director of Study to confirm it. After the confirmation you will receive an email with the name of your teacher and the Zoom link to access your class. Should you not receive the email, you can always find the link inside the calendar, in the time slot you have booked.

We invite you to book your first lesson and talk with your teacher about the future scheduling of your lessons, and then book your remaining lessons. This is because your teacher might not be available at your requested time.

 

How do I access my individual lessons?

To access your individual lessons, you can just click on the link in the lesson confirmation email, or on the link located in the calendar in the time slot you have booked.

 

How do I purchase additional lessons?

After your initial purchase, you can always add as many lessons as you like to your account by entering our Individual lessons page and following the steps.

 

Do my lessons expire?

Yes, our individual lesson packages have specific time limits:

  • 1 lesson – to be used within a week
  • 10 lessons – to be used within 5 weeks
  • 25 lessons – to be used within 10 weeks

Of course, should you buy additional lessons, the expiration date will be extended accordingly.

 

I would like to change my teacher. Is that possible?

Although our teachers are all professionals and trained to assist all type of students, we understand that sometimes a student might feel more comfortable studying with a teacher with a different personality or approach. In case you would like to change your teacher, please get in touch with our Director or Studies Nadezhda at dosrfl_spb@lidenz.ru.

Self-study materials

How do I access the self-study materials?

You will gain full access to the self-study materials after enrolling into any Russian course (including the trial lesson). 

After finalizing your booking, you will find them in your Dashboard, in the section Self-study Materials.

 

How long will my access to the self-study materials last?

Your access to the self-study materials will last for two weeks after the end of your Russian course. If you have purchased individual lessons, your access will last for two weeks after the end of your package validity.

 

Can I obtain a free sample of the materials, without enrolling in a Russian course?

Sure, you can request a free sample here. After completing our survey, you will find your free exercises in your Dashboard, in the section Free Russian Exercises

 

Do I need a Russian keyboard to complete the exercises?

For most of our exercises, you won’t need to write anything as they consist of multiple choice questions. There are, however, a few fill-the-gap exercises in which you would have to write one or few more words in Russian.

If you don’t have a Russian keyboard, there are two solutions for you: you can either use your phone (Russian keyboards are easy to set up in most smartphones); or you can use a virtual keyboard (such as the one you can find on translate.google.com, selecting Russian), allowing you to write the words in Russian and then to copy them in the exercise.

 


Technical questions

What are the technical requirements to access the virtual lessons?

To access our classes you will need any device (a computer, a smartphone or a tablet), a microphone and speaker (which are almost always integrated in the device by default), and an internet connection. Although of course faster internet connections (above 10 Mbps) are preferable, you shouldn’t experience major issues with slower connections.

 

What program do you use for your lessons?

For all of our courses we use the Zoom platform. Zoom works on every device (computers, tablets and smartphones) and operating system. 

You are not required to install anything on your computer or to create an account before the beginning of your course. Simply click on the link to access your lesson and follow the easy steps.

 

I forgot my password. How can I access the website?

On the login page, on the right hand side of the screen you can click on “lost your password?” to receive a password reset link to your email.
